Received an invite to speak at Cape Town’s Visa Street Food Festival (2–3 September), think this will be plenty of fun. This year’s is the fourth annual Street Food Festival and there’ll be a market with a variety of food vendors, food entrepreneur talks and live music.
I’ll be speaking at 11am at Side Street Studios on Taiwanese home cooking in South Africa and how it connects with my cultural identity. Since Taiwanese night markets is the home of many different street foods that mirror in my household’s home cooking, this seemed quite appropriate. Crate Talks will be hosting some other cool food people, like my old friend Nikki Albertyn and more.
“The festival features a food market of local talent and a conference geared towards food entrepreneurs.”
Tickets are R50 on Saturday and R100 on Sunday. Get them here.
